The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act Court on Wednesday rejected the bail application plea of Shahida, the wife of prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi in the inter-state fake stamp paper scam, stating that there was prima facie evidence against her.
She was remanded in judicial custody till December 13.
However, Shahida has been admitted to Government-run Sassoon hospital after she took ill in the court on Tuesday.
Justice B N Sardeshpande, while rejecting the bail, observed that there was prima facie evidence against Shahida and Section 21 did not apply to her as the case was registered under MCOCA.
On Tuesday, defence lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar pleaded that since she was not obstructing the investigation and made herself available for questioning, besides suffering from diabetes and being HIV positive, her's was a fit case of granting bail.
Meanwhile, Mr Nimbalkar and her other lawyer Milind Pawar moved yet another bail application on Wednesday, stating that her condition was critical in the Sassoon Hospital.
Mr Pawar said, "Shahida fell unconscious, she is critical and was kept on saline Wednesday morning. We have brought all her medical certificates and have moved another bail application Wednesday", he said.
