Shahida, the wife of multicrore fake stamp paper scam case prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi, Tuesday surrendered before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act Court after a warrant was issued against her in October.

Shahida is the first woman accused to appear in the special MCOCA court in connection with the case.

She was earlier interrogated as a witness several times by the Central Bureau of Investigation and finally became the 67th accused in the case.

She had been evading arrest on medical grounds and had earlier failed to appear before the court.

Meanwhile, her lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar has pleaded for bail and Shahida has been kept in court custody till its order, Tuesday evening.

The arguments in the case were going on.

Earlier, the burqa-clad Shahida was accompanied by Telgi's cousin and her daughter Sana when she appeared before Special MCOCA Judge B N Sardeshpande.
