The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday said it had in its possession one of the telephone diaries of extradited don Abu Salem [Images] alongwith other papers pertaining to his case of fake travel documents in Portugal.

The CBI, which is interrogating the notorious gangster after having taken his custody from the TADA Court, said the investigating officers had so far not gone through the telephone diary.
The CBI has informed the TADA court of the details of the documents in its possession.
Salem no more likes designer wear
CBI sources said Salem was arrested in Portugal on November 19, 2002, in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case only and not for possessing fake travel documents.
It was after Salem's arrest that it came to light that he was carrying a Pakistani passport in the name of Harsalam Hussain Ali.
He also had three Indian passports in the name of Aqeel Ahmed Azmi from Lucknow, Danish Beg from Bhopal and Namil Mallik from Hyderabad.
Salem, Monica have 6 passports: CBI
His girlfriend and former Bollywood starlet Monica Bedi [Images] also had three Indian passports in the name of Monica from Mumbai, Qauzia Usman from Bhopal and Sana Mallik from Hyderabad, the sources said.
They further said though Salem was educated till standard nine from Sarayimil village in Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, he was, however, familiar with Engish, Portuguese, Hindi and a local dialect from Azamgarh. He can understand but cannot write in all the languages.
The gangster was being interrogated in Hindi at the CBI headquarters in Mumbai, the sources said.
