The Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress has issued a legal notice to film-makers Aishwarya [Images] Chandra and Asif Zaveri for planning to make a film on the Marine Drive rape case.
"The victim, a minor girl, and her family are still in a state of trauma, and a film on the same would keep reminding them of the brutal crime," MPYC president Charan Singh Sapra told PTI after issuing the notice to the film-makers.
"Instead of trying to offer some counselling and making efforts to help the victim to overcome the trauma, it is deplorable that director Chandra and producer Zaveri have decided to make a film with a view to get some mileage and make some commercial gains," he said.

Sapra further alleged that Chandra's statement that he would explore the psychological side of the incident appears as 'farce'.
The MPYC is also planning to file a Public Interest Litigation on the matter, he added.
