The Bharatiya Janata Party disagreed with the Telugu Desam Party's "assessment" that relations with it and the Gujarat violence had a "negative" impact on last year's assembly polls.

"We don't agree with that view point and assessment. Some people in our party are of the opinion that the anti-incumbency factor in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh affected our performance in the Lok Sabha elections," party vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu said.

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu [Images] on Monday said that alliance with the BJP cost his party its minority vote bank.

The TDP also distanced itself from the National Democratic Alliance, during the latter's boycott of Parliament.
