India and Pakistan on Wednesday reported 'tangible and good progress' at the secretary-level talks on the Wullar Barrage-Tulbul Navigation Project in Jammu and Kashmir [Images] and agreed to continue discussions to resolve the differences on it.

"The talks were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere. The two sides exchanged views on the project and
reaffirmed their commitment to the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960," a joint press statement issued at the end of the
two-days talks in New Delhi said.

The two sides agreed to continue the discussion at the next round of the Composite Dialogue Progress 'with a view to
resolving the issue in accordance with the provisions of the treaty', it said.

Asked whether there was any breakthrough in the talks, Secretary of Water and Power Ashfaq Mahmood, who led the
eight-member delegation from Pakistan, said "There has been good progress."

Asked to specify the progress in the talks, Secretary of Water Resources J Hari Narayan, who led the Indian side, said
"There is a better understanding of each other's viewpoint."
