Five persons, including four women, were killed and five injured when a 40-year-old, three-storied building collapsed in suburban Khar in Mumbai on Friday night following incessant rain.

Four persons were still feared trapped under the debris of the collapsed building as rain hampered rescue work.

Of the five injured, two women have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

A 16-year-old boy miraculously escaped the crash without any injuries, hospital sources said.

The 40-year-old building, 'Pushpanjali', collapsed shortly after 10 pm on Friday.

Of the five flats on the first and second floor, four were being used as residences, while one housed a chartered accountant's office, fire brigade sources added.
