The meteorological department has forecast heavy rainfall for Mumbai in the next few days.
"There would be heavy rains or showers accompanied by strong gusty winds," the local weather office said.
Rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday was 32.8 mm in Colaba in south Mumbai and 16.6 mm in Santacruz, it added.
Meanwhile, several trees were uprooted due to heavy rains affecting traffic on some roads, fire brigade sources said.
Monsoon, which was expected to hit Mumbai on June 10, was delayed by nine.
