Hundreds of Nepalese youth on Thursday took to the streets demanding the resignation of King Gyanendra's deputy over his failure to pay back bank loans worth Rs 20 million.
The youngsters, including activists belonging to Nepal Communist Party- United Marxist and Leninist Party, organised a rally carrying an effigy of Tulsi Giri vice-chairman of King's Council of Ministers in Kathmandu.
According to The Kathmandu Post, a leading English daily, Giri took the loan from a government bank two decades ago but never paid back.
About 300 demonstrators led by the Democratic National Youth Organisation, a youth wing of Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist) staged demonstration in Ason, the main trading centre of Kathmandu and demanded his resignation.
