The All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Monday said Pakistan has no solution to offer to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

The APHC assessment must come as a shock to the Pakistani establishment as President Pervez Musharraf [Images] has been coming out with new formulations every day to solve the Kashmir dispute.

Talking to journalists in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, Musharraf said the Kashmir dispute could be solved in two weeks if India and Pakistan have the political will to resolve the matter.

Playing down the optimisn generated by their visit to Pakistan, Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the delegation had a 'very honest discussion' with Musharraf and their understanding was that 'Pakistan doesn't have a solution to offer to the Kashmiri people.'

Addressing a symposium on Kashmir, organised by the Dawn group of newspapers, Farooq said: 'There is no ready-made solution to the Kashmir problem' and the best mode of moving forward would be tripartite talks between India, Pakistan, and the Kashmiri leadership.

But, he said, since India would not agree to this, the alternative for the moment could be a triangular dialogue with Kashmiris talking to Pakistan and India separately and Pakistan and India talking between themselves.

Farooq said the Hurriyat is still exploring the mode of its participation in the peace process and they would travel to New Delhi soon to hold talks with the Indian leadership.
