Railway Minister Lalu Prasad tabled the interim report of the Banerjee Committee, which probed the Godhra train carnage that killed 52 people in 2002, in Parliament on Saturday.
Lalu laid the two-volume report immediately after he presented the railway budget for 2005-06.
The committee, headed by Justice (retd) U C Banerjee, was set up by the United Progressive Alliance government.
The government had given the committee a three-month extension after their interim report on January 17 stated the train fire was an 'accident'.
The report stirred a controversy as it negated the conspiracy theory of the Sangh Parivar justifying the reprisal violence that claimed over 1,000, mainly Muslims, in Gujarat.
According to the Sangh Parivar the train fire was targetted at the Hindus who were returning to Ayodhya after a pilgrimage.
Lalu had earlier accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and other Sangh Parivar outfits of 'being responsible for the post-Godhra riots' that claimed over 1,000 lives in Gujarat.
