A compensation of Rs one lakh will be given to the families of each of the 55 persons killed in a collision between Nagpur-bound Ramtek local and a tractor-trolley at Kanhan, near Nagpur, Minister of State for Railways Narayan Rathwa said.
He made the announcement on Friday after visiting the injured at Mayo Hospital and a private hospital in Kamptee.
He said Rs 25,000 would be given to each of the 14 injured.
