The Lok Sabha inquiry committee, probing the 'cash for query' scam, Saturday heard the version of three members of Parliament caught on camera while another MP has sought more time to appear before it and wanted permission for a lawyer to accompany him.
Former Union Minister M K Anna Patil of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Narendra Kushwaha of Bahujan Samaj Party and Manoj Kumar of Rashtriya Janata Dal appeared before the committee, headed by Congress MP P K Bansal.
Seven other MPs have been asked to appear before it Sunday.
Aniruddha Bahal and his colleagues Suhasini Raj and Namita Gokhale of cobrapost.com, which carried out the sting operation, who were also heard Saturday, were "cooperative and forthcoming" about the operation.
They have promised the committee to provide some more documents and transcripts as sought by it.
Committee sources said BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh Suresh Chandel has written to the panel seeking more time to appear. His request that he should be allowed to be accompanied by a lawyer is being referred to Speaker Somnath Chatterjee as there has been no provision in the rules of procedure.
The committee has been asked to give its report by December 21 after which it would be considered by the House.
The winter session of Parliament is concluding on December 23.
