Dissident Shiv Sena leader Raj Thackeray, who quit all party posts on November 27, is likely to announce his future course of action Sunday, sources close to him said in Mumbai Saturday.

Raj has convened a meeting of his supporters at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai Sunday, the sources said.

However, there was no confirmation on reports that he may announce formation of his own outfit.

Since November 27, Raj has till date not commented on whether he would be setting up his own outfit.

The sources said the new outfit, whenever it is announced, would mainly comprise members of the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena, the Sena's youth wing, which Raj headed since its inception.

It has been 20 days since Raj raised a banner of revolt against the Sena leadership, targeting cousin and party executive president Udhav Thackeray.

"The Sena was being run by a coterie of clerks," Raj had said in Mumbai while announcing that he was quitting all party posts.

Despite repeated pleas by senior Sena leaders, Raj did not budge. It was on December 15, after Sena leader Manohar Joshi arrived at his central Mumbai residence with a message from Sena chief Bal Thackeray that Raj visited the Thackeray family residence in Bandra to meet the Bal Thackeray.

The meeting was a failure, with Raj declaring that he still stuck to his November 27 stance.
