Nagaland govt declares 5-day week

The Nagaland government has declared a five-day week for the state government employees from January 1, 2006.

According to an official release in Kohima Wednesday Saturdays have been declared as a holiday for government employees.

The government has also decided to strictly enforce the policy of 'no work, no pay' in case of erring staff.

The Central pay scales were introduced for the state government employees recently.

The government has also declared new timings for its offices.

Office hours from April 1 to September 30 will be 0930 hours to 1630 hours and from October 1 to March 31, it will be 0900 to 1600 hours, the release added.
