Several top Maoist leaders, including Andhra Pradesh State Committee Secretary Madhav, have been encircled by police in  what has been termed as the largest combing operation in the Nallamala forest area in the state on Monday evening.

According to sources, about 25 special police teams, comprising Greyhounds (anti-naxalite elite commandos), district armed reserve and central para-military police personnel located a group of 50 to 60 Maoists in the forests near Ardhaveedu in Prakasam district while conducting combing operations.

There are no reports of any casualties so far.
