The trial run of Amritsar-Lahore bus service would be held Sunday, paving the way for a third bus service between India and Pakistan.

A bus from Amritsar [Images] would arrive in Lahore [Images] Sunday through the Wagah border covering a distance of about 45 km. Pakistan will hold the trial run of its bus on December 13.

The trial run had earlier been scheduled for October but was postponed due to the massive earthquake.

Pakistan and India launched their first bus link between New Delhi and Lahore in 1999. The service resumed in July, 2003 after being suspended following an attack on India's Parliament.

The second bus link opened between Srinagar [Images] and Muzaffarabad in April this year.

The two countries were also poised to launch a fourth bus aiming to connect Amritsar with Nankana Sahib, the birth place of Guru Nanak located in Pakistan's Punjab province.
