The depression over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining central bay has further weakened into a well marked low pressure area Friday afternoon bringing much needed respite to flood-ravaged Andhra Pradesh.

The system might dissipate in the sea itself, Indian Meteorological Department Director G Sudhakar Rao said.

However, he said isolated heavy rain was likely to occur in the districts of Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Cuddapah and Chittoor of Rayalaseema during next 48 hours.

Isolated rains are also likely over rest of coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers were likely to occur at a few places over Telangana.
