Ayodhya attackers get 14-day judicial remand

Five militants, arrested in connection with the July 5 attack on the Ramjanambhoomi temple complex, were on Wednesday sent to a 14-day judicial remand till August 30.

The five, Dr Irfan Khan, Asif Iqbal, Mohammed Naseem, Mohammed Aziz and Shakeel, had earlier been remanded to police custody by the court for questioning regarding the case and their police remand expired on Wednesday.

The militants were sent to Faizabad divsional jail for the remand period by the chief judicial magistrate.

Security forces had foiled the July 5 attack on the temple complex killing five militants.

Irfan Khan was arrested in Delhi and remaining four were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir [Images] police in July in Poonch district.
