Ten people -- seven US marines and three Iraqi guards -- were killed in a blast on the outskirts of Falluja, Iraq, on Monday.
Several people were wounded and two Humvees were also destroyed in the car bomb blast, according to reports.
The last time the Marine Expeditionary Force suffered a large number of casualties was in early April in Ramadi after daylong fighting left 11 marines dead.
