Revolt against Musharraf, UK group to Muslims
October 01, 2004 20:19 IST
A delegation of Muslims from the United Kingdom has urged Pakistanis to rise against President Pervez Musharraf.
The delegation, comprising Nadeem Ajaib Khan ('Stop Busharraf' campaign organiser), Hassan Mujtaba (executive committee member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir's British chapter), Zubeir Gul (president of the PML-N unit in Britain) and Zulfy Khan (member of the PPP) delivered a letter to the Pakistan high commission in London in this regard.
"The delegation sought to know why the Musharraf regime supported the 'war on terror'. It also wanted to know why the Musharraf regime blamed Islam for Pakistan's ills and opposed the reestablishment of the Islamic Khilafah," Nadeem Khan said.
Dr Imran Waheed, a UK-based doctor and member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, "Only the reestablishment of the Islamic Khilafah will stop Busharraf, end Pakistan's subservience to foreign colonial powers and unify the vast armies and resources of the Muslim world into a single state."
"The Hizb ut-Tahrir can see the Khilafah on the horizon," he said.
