Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti on Thursday sent a letter of apology to party president Lal Kishenchand Advani.

Sources said the firebrand leader in the letter expressed her regrets for the embarrassment she caused to the party when she walked out of a meeting on November 10.

The meeting was being telecast live on TV. Bharti was suspended from the primary membership of the party just minutes after her walkout.

Bharti sent the letter from Badrinath where she is currently camping. "Yes, we have received her apology letter," said Deepak Chopra, a close Advani aide.

However, some reports said the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister has sent two letters and one of them demands action on the issues she had raised at the November 10 meeting before walking out.

Bharti had slammed some of her colleagues for planting stories against her in the media before storming out of the meeting.

Just a couple of days back Bharti had written a letter to her supporters in Madhya Pradesh asking them to work for the party.

"I think she would be back in the party before November 30," a senior leader told rediff.com.
