BJP unhappy with Uma outburst
November 05, 2004 14:47 IST
In an indication that the party has not taken lightly Uma Bharti's critical remarks against Pramod Mahajan, Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday dubbed her outburst as 'indiscipline'.
He also attacked her for claiming individual credit for the electoral victory in Madhya Pradesh, saying it amounted to 'insulting' lakhs of party workers who 'toiled hard to oust the Congress government' in the state last December.

"Any public criticism of a colleague by any leader is not in the spirit of the discipline that party president L K Advani has emphasized on," Naqvi told PTI when asked about Bharti's criticism of Mahajan in a TV interview.
"It is indiscipline," he said adding, "Such comments should be avoided."
Asked to comment on Bharti's assertion that the mandate in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections last year was for her only, he said, "If somebody says such a thing, it smells of pride. Such a claim also amounts to insulting lakhs of party workers."
Bharti made the comments on Thursday night, hours after being appointed as BJP general secretary.
