Custody for driver accused of Aussie's murder

Jyoti Prasad, accused in the murder of Australian tourist Eneilie Griggs, was on Thursday remanded to police custody of eight days by a Delhi court.

Prasad, a taxi driver, was arrested on Wednesday.

Metropolitan Magistrate S K Sharma remanded Prasad to police custody to allow them to arrest a co-accused and make some recoveries.

According to the police, Prasad murdered the 59-year-old Australian tourist near the Indira Gandhi International Airport soon after she arrived in Delhi on Wednesday. He then allegedly disposed off the body in a forested area near the airport.

Griggs had arrived from Australia via Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific flight and was scheduled to be in India till April 20.
