Signal snag derails Mumbai train traffic

A Correspondent in Mumbai | July 17, 2004 11:32 IST

Local train traffic in Mumbai was disrupted due to a 'signal failure' at the suburban Bandra station at around 1030 IST on Saturday, throwing normal life out of gear.

Train traffic along the Western Railway route came to a standstill with trains being halted between Bandra and Mahim, and Bandra and Khar suburban stations.

Railway authorities said that the disruption in traffic was caused due to a signal failure and would take more than an hour to repair.

Some suburban services have been cancelled.
