BJP launches 'Atal Sandesh Yatra'

January 23, 2004 21:01 IST

With a view to get ready for the Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday took out an 'Atal Sandesh' rally from all assembly constituencies in Indore on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary.

The rally culminated into a political meeting at Krishnapura Chhatri area.

Addressing party workers, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Sumitra Mahajan highlighted the achievements of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government.

Mahajan, who represent Indore constituency in the Lok Sabha, asked the workers to "educate voters about the progress made under the able leadership of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee".

BJP leader Rajendra Dharkar also highlighted the performance of the government and criticised the Congress for imposing "family leadership" on the country.

"Since they do not have any leader, Congress has now introduced the siblings of the family [Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi] for its own interest," Dharkar said.
