Two militant outfits -- Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen and Tehrik-ul-Mujahideen -- on Wednesday threatened the All Parties Hurriyat Conference group led by Moulvi Abbas Ansari warning them of 'dire consequences' for 'prostrating themselves before New Delhi'.
The outfits released two separate statements in Srinagar.
Tehrik-ul-Mujahideen said, "There can be no bargaining on the sacrifices of martyrs who had laid down their lives in past 14 years."
The JUM said, "New Delhi is buying the Abbas Ansari group at a disgraceful price like the late state chief minister and founder of the National Conference, Sheikh Abdullah, who entered into an accord and lost both his prestige and honour."
"The intentions to bargain on the sacrifices of the people of the state would be defeated and the traitors engaging in those meaningless negotiations would meet a horrible plight," it added
The TUM statement dismissed 'any fruitful outcome of these talks' saying, "India was simply trying to buy time to delay any resolution of the dispute."
But former chairman of the Hurriyat, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, said his outfit is not going to be cowed down by threats from terrorists and would go ahead with the talks with Advani.
"I have seen the statement issued by Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen. This is a highly irresponsible statement. Jamiat and other militant outfits are also fighting for the same cause for which we are also fighting. But our ways are different. We want to solve the Kashmir problem through talks and they want to do with the barrel of gun. We are going ahead with the talks and we would not be cowed down by the threats from the terrorists," Mirwaiz told rediff.com
The authorities have already enhanced the security of all the members of the executive of the Abbas Ansari faction of the Hurriyat. They have been provided with armed guards and bullet-proof vehicles.
The APHC executive, working committee and the general council are meeting Thursday to 'finalise the modalities' and the composition of the delegation that will visit Delhi to meet the Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani.
