Pakistan on Tuesday assured cooperation in the proposed gas pipeline from Iran to India through its territory.
"We did not oppose it. We won't oppose it," Pakistan Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali told his Indian counterpart Atal Bihari Vajpayee during their meeting on the sidelines of the 12th SAARC Summit in Islamabad.

Addressing mediapersons after conclusion of the summit, Jamali said that he had told Vajpayee, "It would help you more than us. Pakistan is self-sufficient in energy. I would like to contribute towards India as a good gesture."
He added, "The ball is in the Indian prime minister's court."
India is against the pipeline passing through Pakistani territory fearing disruption of supplies at crucial times.
