January 03, 2004 17:46 IST

Five Border Security Force personnel were killed on Saturday in a landmine blast allegedly triggered by terrorists of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura, police said.

The landmine was exploded with a remote control device when a vehicle carrying the BSF personnel arrived near the Chaplingcherra border outpost in South Tripura district, they said.

A search has been launched to trace the terrorists.
