Conspiracy to eliminate me: Telgi
December 19, 2004 00:09 IST
Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the fake stamp paper scam, on Saturday alleged that there is a conspiracy to eliminate him.
Telgi made the allegation when he, along with 60 other accused, was produced before Additional Sessions Judge V V Borikar, presiding the Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court.
Telgi alleged that he is being put to untold misery, tortured and poisoned slowly to death. Necessary instructions should be passed to lift the lid off the 'plan', he said.
He said he is being kept in an egg cell where he cannot talk to anybody. Further, despite court orders, the jail authorities, particularly the medical officer, is being 'careless' towards his health, knowing well that 'my condition is not good and that I have been referred to at least 17 hospitals all over the country over a period of time'.
He said if anything happened to him, the jail authorities should be held responsible.
Earlier, Telgi's lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar submitted that the jail authorities were not complying with the MCOCA court order to provide bedding and nutritious food to the accused and to allow him to talk to his mother and wife.
