5 get bail in Ghatkopar blast case

A special court in Mumbai on Thursday granted interim bail to six people accused in the Ghatkopar blast case.
Mohammed Muzammil, Imran Rehman, Altaf Mohammed Ismail, Haroon, Rasheed Abdul Malik and Arif Hussain Paanwala had to submit a surety of Rs 5 lakh each.
On Wednesday the court granted interim bail to Abdul Mateen, allegedly one of the conspirators.
Police recovered incriminating material from Muzammil.
Paanwala, Haroon and Malik allegedly plotted the attack. They are also accused in the Mulund blast case.
Rehman and Ismail were deported from Dubai.
Earlier, nine accused were discharge in the case due to lack of evidence.
Last week, public prosecutor Rohini Salian withdrew from the case and assigned it to additional public prosecutor R V Kini.
Two persons were killed and 49 injured on December 2, 2002, when a bomb exploded in a bus in Ghatkopar. Twenty-nine people were chargesheeted under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
