Vajpayee speaks to Sharon, condemns attacks

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee spoke to his Israeli counterpart Ariel Sharon on Wednesday morning and condemned Tuesday's terror attacks in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that left 14 people dead.

Sharon is returning home on Wednesday evening cutting short his visit to India.

Vajpayee said he is sorry that Sharon is returning in these sad circumstances and added "our hearts go out to
families of the victims of terrorists."

The prime minister said though Sharon's visit was short, it would contribute greatly to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He said he looked forward to growing interaction between India and Israel in the coming months and years.
