Ties with PM still good: Mayawati

September 04, 2003 19:29 IST

A week after resigning as Uttar Pradesh chief minister and vowing to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party at the national level, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati on Thursday said "even now I have good relations" with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his deputy Lal Kishenchand Advani.

At a press conference in New Delhi, she blamed a group owing loyalty to Vajpayee for the fall of her government.

"Till the last minute Vajpayee did not want the coalition experiment to fail, but the pressure on him was too much..." she said.
