India and Bulgaria on Thursday signed an extradition treaty and broadened mutual cooperation with an accord in the field of information technology.
The agreements were signed at the end of an hour-long meeting between President A P J Abdul Kalam and his Bulgarian counterpart, President Georgi Parvanov.
Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie and Bulgarian Minister of Justice Anton Stankov signed the treaty in the presence the two presidents.
At a joint press conference after the talks, Kalam said terrorism cannot be tolerated under any terms whether political, ethnic or otherwise.
Parvanov said the scourge must be eradicated and ways should be found to achieve this.
An agreement was also inked by secretary, economic relations in the External Affairs Ministry and the Bulgarian deputy minister of youth and sport.
