November 25, 2003 15:36 IST

| The Medical Education Department has sought the mark sheets of the students who secured admission in six government medical colleges in the state this year under the CBSE quota, official sources said.
Medical Education Secretary Afzal Amanullah said he has written to the principals of all government medical colleges to make available the mark sheets and permanent addresses of these students. He said the details will be forwarded to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Ranjit Singh, the kingpin of the paper leakage racket, hails from Bihar and is known to have manipulated admissions to medical colleges too. The CBI believes Singh leaked bank probationary officers' exams papers too.
Fifteen per cent of seats in the state's government medical colleges are reserved for CBSE quota candidates.
