The erstwhile 'Indira' faction of the Congress in Kerala, close to senior leader and former chief minister K Karunakaran, has completed all arrangements for the November 19 rally being organised in Kochi as a show of strength.

Karunakaran will inaugurate the rally, billed as the 'mother of all Congress rallies' in the state, and address Congress workers, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president P P Thankachan, chairman of the rally organising committee, told reporters.

An invitation has been sent to KPCC president K Muraleedharan, he said, adding that the rally is being organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and that those who had stood with her in 'good times and bad' would participate.

Over 300,000 Congress workers close to the 'I' faction are expected to attend the rally, which will be start at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and conclude at the Marine Drive grounds, where Karunakaran will address the workers.

The rally and conference will be held as per the stipulations of the Kerala high court, Thankachan said, adding that all efforts would be made to ensure that movement of vehicles is not affected and the public is not inconvenienced.
