May 16, 2003 19:43 IST
A day after its overseas representatives assured the international community of their support to the Indo-Pak peace dialogue, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Friday sought to be made a party to the talks.
"The need of the hour is to solve the Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris...the APHC must be included in the proposed [Indo-Pak] talks to ensure lasting peace in the region," senior executive member of the amalgam, Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, told a Friday congregation in Srinagar.
"Both New Delhi and Islamabad are making good moves to normalise relations. If the two countries are really serious and sincere to resolve Kashmir, the day will not be far away when the region will witness peace and prosperity," he said.
