Congress to send observers to Rajasthan and MP

Shahid K Abbas in New Delhi | June 03, 2003 01:02 IST

The Congress party on Monday decided to send observers to all divisions of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to form booth committees.

The move came within 48 hours of having deliberated on the issue of governance and development at its Srinagar chief minister's conclave.

The decision followed after two brainstorming sessions involving AICC general secretary Ambika Soni and Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministers Askok Gehlot and Digvijay Singh respectively in Delhi.

The leaders of both the states also met the Congress president Sonia Gandhi before the start of the meetings.

Talking to the rediff.com Motilal Vohra said, "The party has already started its meetings and seminars of the district and block presidents in the two states."
