Pakistani girl Noor Fatima was discharged early on Thursday morning from the Bangalore hospital where she underwent an open heart surgery 17 days back.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Noor left with her parents -- Nadeem Sajjad and Tayyaba Nadeem -- for Delhi by a flight. On Friday, they will ride the Delhi-Lahore bus to return home.

"Noor is normal and stable," doctors at Narayana Hrudayalaya, where Noor underwent the operation to plug a hole in her heart on July 15, said.

The Pakistani girl, who came to India on July 11 on the Lahore-Delhi bus,  had generated an outpouring of goodwill on both sides of the Indo-Pak border.

Noor's father Nadeem Sajjad said she would be on medication for three months and regular follow-ups would be done with paediatric cardialogist Masood Sadiq in Lahore.

He said Sadiq would be in touch with Dr Rajesh Sharma, the paediatric cardiac surgeon who performed the surgery on Noor.
