Over 200 ISI bases destroyed since BJP came to power: Advani
July 16, 2003 22:48 IST
As many as 205 Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence bases and camps have been destroyed ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani said on Wednesday.
Addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, he said while India wanted people-to-people contact with its neighbour, it will also deal with cross-border terrorism with an iron hand.
The support people gave for the heart surgery of a Pakistani child in Bangalore, he said, was an indication of the humanitarian approach to the relationship between the two countries.
Operation Sarp Vinash in Jammu and Kashmir, he added, demonstrated the government's resolve to wipe out cross-border terrorism.
