Security officer killed
in landmine blast in J&K

A security officer was killed on the spot and a jawan injured in a mine blast triggered by militants in Anantang district of south Kashmir on Monday, official sources said.

The blast took place at 0800 hours when their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device planted by militants at
Dooni Puwa, 45 km from Srinagar, sources said.

Although no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the blast, police suspect Hizbul Mujahideen's hand.
