PhD, MPhil, MS Programmes at JNTU, Hyderabad
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, invites applications for admission to the following research programs in its constituent colleges/units:
1. PhD: Civil Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Computer Science/Metallurgy/Water Resources/Environment/ Remote Sensing/Energy Systems/Biotechnology/Transportation Engineering/English/Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Management Science/Industrial Engineering/Architecture/Urban & Regional Planning/Chemical Engineering.
2. MPhil: Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Management Science/English.
3. MS: Civil Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science.
Eligibility:
PhD & MPhil: Masters in concerned subject with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate.
For Management Science postgraduates in any subject with 10 years experience in a top-level managerial capacity either in industry or government are also eligible.
PhD in multi disciplinary areas:
Water Resources: Masters in Water Resources/Civil Engineering/Agricultural Engineering/Hydrology/Geology/Geophysics/Meteorology/Geography.
Remote Sensing: Masters in Remote Sensing/Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Geology/ Geography/Engineering/Agriculture.
Biotechnology: Masters in Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering/Food Technology/Biochemical Engineering/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Life Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Genetics, Agricultural Sciences).
Energy Systems: Masters in Energy Systems/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Chemical Engineering or Technology.
Environment: Masters in Physical Sciences/Natural Sciences/Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences/Biotechnology/Environmental Engineering/Agricultural/Computer Sciences.
MS: BE/BTech or equivalent with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate in the concerned subject.
Candidates working in a well-equipped educational/scientific/R&D/ industrial/government organisation and in colleges affiliated to the Universities are eligible for admission as external candidates and shall continue to work in their own organizations. Full-time research scholars and faculty members of the JNT University will be admitted as internal candidates.
Candidates may have either internal or external supervisors. If the guide and candidate are not from any units of the JNT University, the candidate should have a co-guide who should be from one of the units of JNT University. For candidates working in National level organization co-guide is not necessary, provided the guide is working in the same organization and same place.
Application Procedure:
Candidates seeking admission to the MS programme will have to appear for a written test and interview to be held at Hyderabad.
For all other programmes candidates will have appear for an interview at Hyderabad.

Application in prescribed form along with a DD for Rs1000 drawn in favour of the Registrar, JNTU payable at Hyderabad should be sent to the Coordinator, Admissions, Admission Section, JNTU, Kukatpally, Hyderabad 500072 on or before December 23, 2003. Applicants are required to send three stamped (Rs 5) self-addressed envelopes of 22 cm x 10 cm attached with the request.
