CM asks Mumbai residents to stay calm

Following the twin blasts in Mumbai, which killed more than 45 people, Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Monday said the government is committed to "overcome the conspiracy targeted to disrupt life" in the metropolis.

"The blasts are designed to disturb the economic activities of this financial capital, which is also a tourist attraction," he said in a statement.
"We will not spare anybody responsible for this heinous act. The guilty will be brought to book. The state machinery is fully geared for this purpose. I am confident that the citizens of this brave city will cooperate at this need of hour.
"I appeal to all of you not to get panicky. All are requested to cooperate with the authorities and to extend them support in their work. I also request you not to succumb to false rumours. It will lead to unnecessary chaos. We are committed to be transparent in giving necessary information to the citizens."
