Missing Bangalore kids traced to Kerala
August 24, 2003 03:52 IST
Ending two days of suspense over, seven children missing from Bangalore were on Saturday traced to Haripad in Kerala's Alleppey district.
The students - six girls and one boy, aged between eight and 13 - went missing on August 21 after leaving their home with school-bags.
"The children are with a relative of one of the students," Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaiprakash Nayak told PTI in Bangalore. "A team has been sent to bring the children who are reportedly safe. They should be back by Sunday," he added.
Police said the children spoke over phone with their parents, who were reassured of their safety.
While three of the girls - sisters aged eight, 11 and 13 - were students of a corporation school, the remaining four, including the boy, belonged to the St Anne's School. They are residents of the Indiranagar locality, police said.
