Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Sunday called off his nine-day-old fast-unto-death after receiving a letter from Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde accepting all but one of his demands.

Hazare has agreed to withdraw his demand for the resignation of four Nationalist Congress Party ministers against whom he has levelled charges of 'irregularities'.

Hazare began his fast on August 9. He had three rounds of negotiations with the government -- on August 13, 15 and 16.

Talking to reporters after breaking the fast with lemon juice offered by Tukaram Acharya, Hazare said that on his demand for guidelines on transfer of government employees, the government has agreed to promulgate an ordinance to strictly follow the existing guidelines.

Government will formulate draft transfer rules which will be sent to Hazare, former chief secretary Madhav Godbole and former police chief Julio Rebeiro to suggest necessary amendments.

To probe the allegations against the four DF ministers and counter-allegations made by one of them against Hazare, a one-man commission headed by Justice (retd) P B Sawant has been appointed.

On the demand for right to information, government said a legislation and guidelines in this connection have already been formulated.
