Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, the mystery flu-like disease, on Monday night claimed two more lives in Hong Kong.
The two, aged 81 and 74, died in the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Princess Margaret Hospital respectively.
This brings to 25 the number of SARS-related deaths in the Chinese city since March 12.
"An additional 45 patients with symptoms of atypical pneumonia were admitted to public hospitals," the health department of Hong Kong said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hong Kong's overstretched hospitals have 790 cases of SARS out of which 116 patients are in intensive care units.
A total of 138 patients have recovered from atypical pneumonia and have been discharged from public hospitals. Of them, 11 were discharged on Tuesday.
