Terrorists slain in Delhi were Pakistanis: Advani

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani has said the two terrorists killed in an encounter with police at the Ansal Plaza shopping complex in Delhi on Sunday hailed from Gujranwala and Kasur districts of Pakistan.

The police was keeping a watch on them for a while, he said on Monday.

Those who planned an attack in Delhi on Diwali moved the two terrorists to the capital from Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir, Advani said.

Meanwhile, search on the bodies of the terrorists had revealed three diaries, the Joint Commissioner of Police (special cell), Neeraj Kumar said.

The diaries had a number of entries, which could provide information about their plans and help in investigations, Kumar said.

No Identity cards were found on their possession, he said.

He said the white Maruti 800 car used by the terrorists was searched and a map of Delhi was found.

There was discrepancy in the registration number etched on the sideglass (UP-12B 9326) and the one displayed on the front and rear plates (DL-8CB 3241), the officer said.

Police sources said some accomplices of the terrorists could still be in Delhi.
