Condemning the grenade attack on a church in Islamabad on Sunday that left five people dead as a 'vicious act of terrorism', United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan said that it was 'a crime against humanity and religion'.
"The secretary general condemns in the strongest possible terms this vicious act of terrorism. The heartless and indiscriminate killing of innocent worshippers is a crime against humanity and religion," a UN spokesperson said on Monday evening.
"The secretary general offers his deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the victims," the spokesperson added.
Five persons, including two US citizens, were killed and 46 others were injured in a grenade attack on a Protestant international church in Islamabad's diplomatic area on Sunday.
