Hindi film director Lawrence D'Souza escaped unhurt after a bid was made on his life on Friday outside his office-cum-residence at Oshiwara in Mumbai.
According to police sources, two unidentified persons walked into D'Souza's office at Shanti Van, Oshiwara, fired three rounds and went away.
Although, there is nothing official from the police as yet, it is learnt that D'Souza has been getting extortion threats from the Chhota Rajan gang and the attack was meant to only scare him and not take his life.
At the time of filing the report, there was no official statement from the police nor D'Souza, who was taken by the police to his house after recording his statement in the Oshiwara police station.
