Several teams have fanned out across Delhi and Haryana to hunt down the suspects following disclosures by Sri Bhagwan, who was arrested in connection with the case two days back, police sources said.
"So far, there is nothing to say," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Qamar Ahmed told PTI when asked if there were any arrests.
Among the suspects is Satya Prakash, a property dealer from Gurgaon and a distant relative of Sri Bhagwan.
The Crime Branch on Thursday claimed that it was 'close' to solving the case in which Shivani, wife of Times of India legal editor Rakesh Bhatnagar, was found murdered in her apartment in east Delhi in January, 1999.
Bhagwan, son of a police officer, operates a restaurant in Gurgaon and is into the property business. He was picked up from Gurgaon and arrested on charges of murder and conspiracy.
He has made 'some significant disclosures' on the basis of which the manhunt has been launched to piece together the entire conspiracy, the police sources said.
The motive behind the killing has been attributed to 'her intimacy with somebody', the sources said.
A senior IPS officer, under whom Bhagwan's father Omkar Sharma had served in Gurgaon, is also suspected to be involved in the case, they said.
